Temperature: 22-28°C (72-82°F)
Humidity: 80-90%
Airflow: Small fans running 24/7
Light: Bright indirect light, 12-14 hours per day
Watering: When topsoil is dry
Soil: Chunky, airy aroid mix
Fertilizer: Mild feeding every 2-3 weeks in growing season
Understanding climate variables such as temperature and humidity is crucial for cultivating unique plants. These elements significantly impact growth and health. As every plant has it’s own origins, you will have slight differences in climate variables.
Exploring how precipitation levels vary across regions helps in deciding which rare plants can thrive, ensuring a successful cultivation process.
Most plant enthusiasts have tropical plants in their greenhouse cabinet. Tropical plants originate from a tropical climate, but what does that actually mean?
In the Köppen-Geiger climate classification, different climates are distinguished. There are five main zones, categorized based on temperature and precipitation. The Köppen-Geiger classification was developed with plant growth in mind—perfect for this context!
The tropical climate: here, the average temperature in the coldest month does not drop below 18°C.
WELKE LANDEN VALLEN IN HET TROPISCHE KLIMAAT?

Day Temperature: 22-28°C (72-82°F)
Night Temperature: 18-22°C (64-72°F)
Stable Conditions: Anthuriums do not like sudden temperature changes.
Ideal Humidity: 80-90% (Some can tolerate 70% but will grow slower)
Keep in mind that the VPD balance is important to determine the optimal humidity for your greenhouse cabinet climate.

Airflow is a MUST: Prevent mold and fungus by using USB fans inside the greenhouse cabinet.
Personally, we like to use computer cooling fans. They have a lower speed on average, but enough to sustain a healthy amount of air flow.
Bright, indirect light (12-14 hours daily).
Don’t place in direct sun—this can scorch the leaves.
Best Grow Lights for Anthuriums:
Soil affects how much water and air reach the roots. Choosing the right soil mix is key to healthy growth.
Anthuriums love chunky, airy soil that allows fast drainage but retains moisture.
Tropical Plants → Use a chunky, well-draining mix.
40% Orchid Bark (Provides structure & aeration)
30% Coco Coir or Sphagnum Moss (Holds moisture)
20% Perlite or Pumice (Prevents compaction)
10% Charcoal (Filters out toxins & prevents root rot)
Ferns & Mosses → Use moisture-retaining soil
(peat + perlite + worm castings).
Succulents & Cacti → Use fast-draining soil
(sand + perlite + cactus mix).
Repotting: Every 1-2 years or when roots fill the pot
Soil should be moist but not soggy.
Use the Finger Test: Water when the top 1-2 cm (½ inch) of soil is dry.
